20 Hot Spots to Watch Warriors Game in San Francisco, Nearby Areas

You don’t have to be a basketball fan to be part of the most exciting thing happening in San Francisco these days: Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors and the team’s quest for an NBA championship since 1974.  With the series tied 2-2, it has now become a best-of-3 series between the Dubs and the Lebron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Warriors have two home games left — one this Sunday (game 5) and if the team doesn’t clinch it in Game 6 in Cleveland, it means they will be headed home for Game 7, the do-or-do die game for both teams.  Oracle Arena, located in Oakland, is where all the action is happening but if you can’t get tickets, there are other places you can hang out with friends and families to watch history in the making.

Here are 20 hot spots you can choose from depending on your mood. If you’re rooting for Golden State like us, just hope that Curry makes those 3-point flurries:
  1. New Parkway Theater . 474 24th Oakland (see photo above)
  2. Taco Shop at Underdog’s. 1824 Irving St., SF
  3. Jake’s Steaks. 3301 Buchanan St. SF
  4. Sauced BBQ and Spirits. 2300 First St. Livermore
  5. Giordano Bros. Mission: 3108 16th at Valencia; North Beach: 303 Columbus Avenue at Broadway, SF
  6. Wood Tavern, 6317 College Ave., Oakland
  7. Kezar Pub. 770 Stanyan St., SF
  8. Hi Tops. 2247 Market St., SF
  9. Ricky’s Sports Theatre and Grill. 15028 Hesperian Blvd., San Leandro. It has 90 TVs
  10. Triple Rock Brewery. 1920 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley
  11. Alameda Theater. 2317 Central Ave., Alameda
  12. Uptown: 1707 Telegraph Avenue; Montclair: 6516 Moraga Avenue
  13. 466 Haight Street, SF
  14. Eureka! 2068 Center St., Berkeley
  15. The Blackthorn. 834 Irving St., SF
  16. Tribune Tavern. 401 13th, Oakland
  17. SOMA StrEAT Food Park. 428 11th, SF
  18. Pedro’s Cantina. 128 King St., SF
  19. Make Westing. 1741 Telegraph Ave., Oakland

As for our 20th suggestion, which would ideally be our no. 1 Golden State spot, we’re recommending the most comfortable hangout place for you and your friends or family…

  1. Your corporate housing or apartment. If you’ve got a big TV, just throw a party. Tickets at this Sunday’s 5 pm game will set you back by nearly $800 (for 2, if you’re lucky) or $34,400 (for two, if you can afford it).

So take your pick. You could go to any our suggested bars or restaurants above, which were also recommended by SF Gate, or you could stay at home and enjoy the game with your loved ones. Send us some photos, we’ll post the best ones. (DC)
